Props
After reading our story summary and how we are going to approach creating it, it is clear that we have chosen to involve some props that are more complicated: specifically our choice to involve a gun. The gun prop is vital to our sequence so we have tried to secure the rights and permissions to be able to use a realistic rifle replica, I understand why permission must be granted as it poses a threat to those who do not know its a replica.
As we now have permission to use a replica we have chosen to use a replica of a scoped rifle: this is perfect for our sequence as the scope connotes precision, and its color suggest concealment as well as danger; black. The black also connotes professionalism, all traits we want the character of the assassin to have.
This is very close to, if not, the same as the prop we intend to use. |
The gun is not our only prop, however it is one that needed to be adressed due to the restrictions behind its use, we intend to use other props such as
A File - This is for our first chief detective to hand to our protagonist, inside will be information regarding the assassin and will be used in the first scene where the debriefing takes place. Getting a folder should be easy as there are many around college we could ask to borrow, if not, we can bring our own as we use files for our work.
What we would like ideally. Regarding the file. |
A head-shot picture of our assassin - This will be slightly harder to attain over the folder, yet not impossible, we merely aim to to take a picture of the actor of our assassin and place that within our folder, meanings its use will also be within the first scene.
2 Mobile Phones - Phones will be needed in order to show there is a conversation between the assassin and the protagonist after the phone is called after the initial shooting.
Keys - Easy to attain, its use will be to infer to the spectators that the assassin and protagonist have been driving.
Briefcase - This will be used by the assassin, as the gun will come out of the briefcase and be assembled.
What we would ideally like regarding the briefcase. |
As well as a land rover - Although we will have a separate blog post regarding this, as this too is one of our more complicated props, along with the gun, we aim to use a military grade land rover as the assassins vehicle, it is a good prop as it too infers some sort of military background for our assassin but also creates an enigma for the character on how they have this vehicle. Although more will be explained in the blog post, we intend to get a vehicle from Callum's Brother.
